Georgia | Travel Information
The country of Georgia is located in the Caucasus region, at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is bordered by the Black Sea to the west, Russia to the north, Turkey and Armenia to the south, and Azerbaijan to the southeast.
Come for the vibrant multi-cultural capital city, Tbilisi, but there’s more. Enjoy UNESCO heritage sites, gleaming seaside resorts, mountains and quality food and wine.

- Visas: Check for your nationality. Visa-free travel is permitted for up to a year for UK and EU passport holders.
- Electricity & adapters: Standard European plug types (C/F) at 230V; no adapter needed for most European devices.
- When to Go: The best time to visit Georgia is during the shoulder seasons of May-June and September -October. These months offer mild weather, pleasant temperatures for exploring cities and hiking, and fewer crowds. September is ideal for the wine harvest (Rtveli), while July/August are best for high-mountain hiking.
