GEORGIA TRAVEL GUIDES FROM THE ONE SMALL BAG BLOG

Georgia has plenty to attract the visitor. Whether you come for the Great Caucasus, the highest mountains in Europe, wine (because it’s the birthplace), Unesco heritage sites, gleaming seaside resorts, the unique food, or the vibrant multi-cultural capital city, Tbilisi, you are unlikely to leave disappointed. It’s also great value to get there from other European countries with budget airlines like Wizz Air and EasyJet flying there from multiple locations. It’s great value once you get there, too.

Listed below are my Georgia travel guides, my personally recommended tours, and some essentials about the country, you’ll need to know before you go.

When to Go

The best time to visit Georgia is during the shoulder seasons of May-June and September -October. These months offer mild weather, pleasant temperatures for exploring cities and hiking, and fewer crowds. September is ideal for the wine harvest (Rtveli), while July/August are best for high-mountain hiking.

My Favourite Georgia Experiences

I like to travel independently wherever I can, but sometimes and some places, taking a group tour is absolutely the right decision. Georgia can be one of those places. These are tours I have taken myself paid for with my own money and I can highly recommend them.
