Kosovo | Travel Information
Kosovo is one of Europe’s youngest states, and its capital, Pristina, is the continent’s newest capital city. While Kosovo’s independence is not universally recognised, on the ground, it functions much like any other European country, straightforward to travel in and notably welcoming.
Kosovo receives far fewer visitors than many of its neighbours, which is part of its appeal. In Pristina, expect some unconventional architecture, excellent coffee, and a distinctly youthful atmosphere. Prizren offers a more traditional counterpoint, with an attractive old town and a short climb up to the fortress rewarded by wide views over the city. Bordering Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Montenegro, Kosovo is a great place to visit as part of a wider Balkan journey. I’ve included a suggested itinerary linking it naturally with neighbouring countries.
Here are some useful things to know about Kosovo, to help you plan your visit.
