SAN MARINO

A tiny, mountainous, landlocked microstate completely surrounded by Italy, and not far from the Adriatic coast. San Marino is the world’s oldest surviving republic and its capital city of the sa,e name, sits atop Monte Titano in a somewhat dramatic fashion. While you can visit on a daytrip, and many do, I recommend staying overnight and saving space and time for delicious San Marino cuisine.
