Other Travel Essentials for Light Packers

A list of the things I carry which don’t fall into the categories, clothes, toiletries or tech and storage of those items.

Items stored in a ‘Support Pouch’

First Aid Essentials	25	Just a selection from home, some plasters and enough for a day of anti-histamines, pain killers, tablets for tummy troubles and cold relief. Beyond that, it’s off to a pharmacy or doctor.
Muji Sewing Kit	17	Tiny kit with all the essentials, to deal with the inevitable! Also keep a sim card remover in here.
Loop Earplugs	10	To deaden or silence the noise wherever necessary!
Laundry Sheets	21	Generally I use hotel soap or shampoo to handwash. The sheets do work for handwashing, but I tend to save them and use them with washing machines
Spare Money, card and key Documents	20	A backup if my wallet or phone were to go missing
Tea, coffee sachets	17	Incredibly useful if you have access to hot water/kettle. I start out with a few and collect as a I go!
Humangear Folding Fork & Spoon	28	Also used very frequently. Saves single use cutlery. A recent upgrade from a spork!
Chipolo POP Tracking Device	8	A great alternative to Apple Air tags for android users. Cheaper too! Works with both Android and Apple devices. One slotted in my pouch in my main bag, one in my wallet.
Lifeventure Dristore locktop bags for storing misc items		Bags used for the above, to separate things in the pouch. (Weight already included)

These are my ‘Everyday Carry’ (EDC) items which generally come with me, whether I’m away or not.

Fjallraven Passport Wallet	210	This holds passport, cash, cards, my Swiss card of ‘mini tools’ and tracking device, Also a USBc to A converter and USBc to HDMI converter to extend the use of the USBc cable to public/hotel charging points and external screens. (Kept here for safe keeping)
Victorinox Swiss Card with mini tools	27	Kept in passport wallet (my travelling companion for years. It has been through many airports – but just confiscated at Tbilisi airport! So will need to rethink this!
Chipolo POP Tracking Device	8	Kept in passport wallet
Spare Glasses in ultralight glasses case	90	Necessary essential for me as a glasses wearer, who can’t see without them! Transition lenses save on separate sun glasses.

Kobo Clara Colour E-Reader with Kobo Clara E-Reader case	174 109	Prefer this to a kindle
Loop Earplugs for Sleep and noisy places	10	To block out or quieten the noise, night or day!
Muji flat water bottle and/or Vapur Collapsible Water bottle	47	The Muji water bottle is a small FLAT water bottle, A simple design that never leaks and a cheap one too which fits in my crossbody bag. I’ll often fill or buy a disposable water bottle too.
Decathlon Packable 15L Messenger Bag	116	Really useful travel bag for shopping, day trips and more.
Fulton Tiny 1 Umbrella	92	Ultralight, but still relatively sturdy and always useful!
